1st Degree Black Belt Requirements

Requirements

  1. At least four years of study unless it is proven otherwise that you know and can show the material at an exceptional level.
  2. At least 60 hours of in-school cleaning.
  3. Attendance at least one tournament.
  4. All payments must be up-to-date.
  5. Helped instruct for at least 60 hours.
  6. Must create your own form for your test.  If the form is well-liked, it will be added to our curriculum.
  7. Must be able to perform all techniques with both left and right sides.
  8. After the black belt test, you must wait one week to know if you passed.

Instant Failure

  1. First form (Shino) performed incorrectly.
  2. Front kick, side kick, back kick or hook kick with toes down.
  3. Punch with thumbs out to the side.
  4. Incorrect weight distributions or shoulder widths with any stance.
  5. Straight knees in any stance.
  6. Giving up on any part of the test.

Physical Test

  1. Jog for at least 10 minutes non-stop.
  2. 100 pushups without giving up.
  3. 200 leg lifts without giving up.
  4. 200 black belt crunches without giving up.
  5. Hold a 10-minute plank without giving up.
  6. Perform mountain climbers for 15 minutes without giving up.

  5. You against an aggressive opponent holding a knife—you must disable the threat

Board Breaking

  1. Must break a board with a side kick
